This post has been quite illuminating.

Hmm, I like the kitchen, but the lights are totally wrong for it.

I like led Edison bulbs so freaking bright.

Eh. Not my style.
I’ve wondered about getting an LED fixture for our dining room/kitchen. One of those round ones. Think Dr. Strangelove war room, but scaled down to fit over a dining room table:

The white fake marble on that island bothers me. I’m not sure why. Those lights also don’t work in that space.

I like how they are designed to look old but, lights that actually took real Edison bulbs went to great lengths to hide them
From the early 1920s holds 6 bulbs because they were so dim then. From a
Detroit Theater now in my entry way.

I respect that they stuck to a style

I think all the lines in photos 1 and 3 would give me anxiety

Now THAT is neat.

The fake marble should have been all white without the grey lines and the island should have a satin black finish, not matte. It looks like they tried to make the island the inverse of the other cabinets and counters and failed.

Very nice lead three photos, Dr. Zoidberg. You could have easily stopped there instead of panning out and exposing the reality of new construction you encounter.

Yeah, I think that’s it. If the top was off white or butcher block or even the same as the counters, it would look a lot better.
